I spent many weeks trying to figure out the right arrangement of these pieces. Just after returning from New Year's, I arranged them, sewed them together and free motion quilted. I just stopped guessing the best arrangement and moved forward.
I'm really happy how well the quilting came out. I'm not sure about the piece as a whole. But I am sure glad it's behind me now!
One of my favorite quilting is this fern leaf that I tried to copy the fern in the pink fabric.
It's not often I want to show the back of my free motion work. I don't know whether it was the YLI thread or a slow and steady hand or the stars all aligned, the back is showable!!!

The back just blows me away. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI am scared to do free motion though I do have the foot for my machine. I just need to sit down and practice.
Hi Eileen, Just found your blog - your free motion work is lovely! I love the quilting step - been doing it for years - it's one of my favorite parts of the quilting process. Happy quilting!
