Thursday evening in Houston - Optional "fashion starts below the knees" contest. Design/decorate and model a pair of shoes. I grabbed these shoes that were headed for the garage sale pile:
First painted them with gesso:
Painted with acrylic paint - bluish green:
Strips of blue/green fabric:
Tied them into the weaving of the shoe:
Added fish and seashells to make "The sea at her feet" shoes! They didn't win any prizes but had a lot of fun wearing them. Instead of the garage sale, I think I'll keep them for awhile!
