My sister and I were fortunate enough to fly down to Houston last Wednesday, November 3rd. Although our plane was a tad late and Super Shuttle was a little delayed, we finally made it to Embassy Suites. Dropped our bags and walked to the convention center. Preview opened at 5pm. It was the first visit for both of us and we were amazed at the size of both the exhibit area and the vendor area. Here are a few of the quilts we saw in Houston. The pictures don't do them justice. There was sooooo many quilts on exhibit.
This one won "Best in Show". Made by Sue McCarty "Harmony Within" is heavily thread painted. It's a solid red fabric, bordered by a solid black fabric...all that gold is thread! Absolutely stunning!
